Device Secure Print

Device Secure Printing uses the Delegation Server for authentication and application of print rules to print jobs but uses the hard disk of the local device for storage. The target printer can be a printer or shared printer configured with a port of the protocol supported by the device.

The Device Secure Print job list can only be viewed on the local operation screen on which the print jobs are stored. The job list cannot be viewed or accessed from other devices.

The Delegation print function is not available for Device Secure Print jobs.

  1. Install a Printer

  • Use the Printer Driver Packager NX/Ridoc Ez Installer NX software to create a printer driver package and install it on the client computer. Refer to Install A Secure Printer for instructions.

  1. Manage the SLNX Embedded Applications

  • To use the secure printing functions on a device with the SLNX Embedded Applications installed, configure authentication and print-related settings in [Streamline NX Embedded Settings], and associate the device with a Delegation Server.

  1. Configure Device Secure Print Settings

  • To display Device Secure Print jobs in the job list on the operation screen of a local device, enable the 'Allow device direct print' checkbox within the [Streamline NX Embedded Settings] ®[Embedded Authentication] screen for the selected device.

  1. Optional: Configure the Fail Over Function

  • A device can be associated with multiple Delegation Servers. When a communication problem occurs between the device and the primary server and the server does not respond, operations can be temporarily switched to a secondary server. Specify the priority of the Delegation Servers in advance.

  1. Optional: Print Job Data Storage and Automatic Delete Setting

  • Configure the storage period for stored jobs and specify whether or not to delete stored jobs after printing.
